I know it is not recomended, but i have heard of it being done. companies suggest not using it but i like the look and feel of soild wood. I have read where if you dry out your subfloor before installation you shoud be ok and also aclimate your flooring very good. Does anyone have any bad experiences with warping, cracking, spreading etc?? I would not be looking at the real wide plank floor just your already finished bruce flooring in #2 grade becasue i like the little knots and stuff???

Maybe 'cause wood is a very good insulator. This seems counterproductive.

Wood isn't really a good insulator.

A log cabin's wall has a very low R value for its thickness.

Many people want there floors to be very warm.

Wood floors dry out quickly when they are heated above 87°F.
