So I have this little wood shop that's about 4' of the ground post foundation and is framed with 2x2 (1 1/2"x 1 1/2). The entire structure is 12X12' the roof 16x16'. Right now, there are 2x4 rafters on a slant shed roof sheathed together with metal roofing. I'm planning on pull the metal and laying down some 5/8 or 1/2 OSB. My very elementary questions are as followed:

1. What kind of weight can a 2x2 framed cabin hold? Especially the roof weight?
2. When I re-roof should I used tar-paper under the metal or is that over kill? 15lbs or 32lbs felt?
3. Is it important to "block between the rafter 2x4s for more support or is that over doing it?
4. Does anyone know of patching material (caulk etc) for metal roofing that can withstand the heat of a wood stove pipe?
