We have a 2 family house and live on 2nd floor( house only has ground and 2nd fl.). The house septic system drains into a cesspool. The 2nd floor toilet is backing up but the 1st level toilets are not. Trying to determine if we have a clog or the cesspool is full? Thanks.

When it was installed, could have used too much wax ring and the squeeze out is blocking at the flange. The toilet snake works best since it can push the blockage. If not, remove the toilet and try 1/2" rental snake.

Could be how the other family is using the toilet.

Did you post about another sewer line backup? Maybe time to have the entire plumbing drain pipes cleaned. Sorry, I maybe confusing my post which was recent.

Are the second floor sinks and tub also backing up? If not, I suspect the toilet. If so, look downstream.
