Contact the manufacturer. That sounds strange as most english speaking countries green is earth. How do you know what wire is which? Is there a diagram?

blue wire was screwed to body of motor and the red and green wires are wired into a contactor. the other end of the wire has no plug on it. so i know where the earth goes just need to know if it matters if i mix the other 2 up. id think red would be active but who knows with these colours:furious::furious::furious:

I know couple of European country did use that old format and it is no longer legal.

If my memory serve right the red was netrual while green was live { warning : this is a very old colour code }

however you will have to reconfreaged the connection at the motour.

use the bleu for netrual and green for earth connection on the motor and grab a brown tape or sleeve and remarked the red conductor as live conductor.

Otherwise the best legit way is replace the whole cable set to correct colour code.

why is it illegal? safety issues?

Bingo.,

In old codes in European codes the colour codes was shuch a effer mess over the years they changed the colour codes.

I know in France they did change 4 time thru the history time period so that one thing most European Electricians are wise engough to test everything before they mess around and what really compound it more that most of them do have three phase supply that will add more twist with confusing with colours.

I know North America side they did not really change the colour code very much over the years beside on commercal side they did change on couple colour but otherwise most were left alone.

Merci,Marc
