#2 Have you called around and gotten other quotes?
Is this just a simple replacement window your looking for?
Got a picture of what your windows look like now?
If there just old double hung wooden windows why not replace them yourself?

Minneapolis. I've only just begun researching, as we intend to begin replacing this summer. I asked the question here because the "deal" will not be around long. I also know nothing about Mastic. I've never replaced a window in my life, so I'm not sure I'm up to it, although I would love to do it myself and save the money. My current windows are 47 year old single pane casements.

Post a picture of what you have, if there just old wooden double cased windows it's DIY 101 and a few simple tools to replace them.
At the price you quoted I sure hope there also wrapping the outside with new coil stock.

$315ea is a very low price for any window professionally installed. I believe the Mastic is a new "relabel" of the plygem pro / Great Lakes Grandview 3000. Plygem owns both companies. It is "okay" for a budget window... Whether or not it is a good deal depends on a variety of factors including the quality of the install, etc.

Window Customer

Hello Brad I am glad to see others looking at and taking advantage of this special. I had a sales rep from this company come to my house and look at our windows. My house was built in 1985 and the only additional fees we had to pay was for the outside aluminum mouldings and the triple pane glass which we hope gives us great energy savings. I would refer them to anyone looking at replacement windows.

Nope not associated with them. Purchased the deal through angies list after reading up on the award and their reports. We have used angies list in the past and have been very happy with previous contractors The salesman was really informative and being the deal was purchased through angies list there was no pressure. They showed me that the installers are trained so I am pretty sure the installation will go well. Glad to see that this is a good price though.

Limited Deals are never ending. There is always a limited deal.

Do this on your budget and timeline. always get at least three quotes and make sure work materials and all details are spelled out.

get anything missing from the contract in writing. I suggest getting at least one of the quotes from a long time local company with good local standing. Ask freinds and neighbors with new windows for their experiences.

That is indeed interesting because the company name has never been mentioned.
@ Brad, at this point, I'd have to agree with the other guys. Expand your search:thumbsup:

I really appreciate everyone's advice. I'm going to do more research on doing it myself. Maybe buy a book or something and try doing one window. If it doesn't work out, I'll start calling the professionals. Thanks again guys.

Sounds like a solid approach moving forward Brad. I'm generally for professional installation, but if you must choose between a DIY install and paying for what could be highly suspect anyway, you are probably better just educating yourself and "giving it a go". ;)
