I’m watching daughters house and feeding her bunny while she’s on vacation so she sent me money and told me to get a pizza for myself.

Instead I thought I’d treat myself to a steak and went to Publix this morning for a ribeye. Wow ! They just had a few on the counter and they were 1 pound, and thicker than what I want for my skillet but they were $18 a lb. That was a little steep for me. I haven’t bought steak for several months but they weren’t that high!

I got a smaller pizza the other day and it was $30 from Round Table! Incl tip. Chicken Garlic.
That’s high to me. I may get a pizza this week but I like thin crust veggie lovers pizza. I haven’t bought a pizza for a long time. Daughter buys them pretty often and I just eat a slice of hers which is usually pepperoni. Or I toast tortillas and buy pizza sauce and spread on it with mozzarella and that satisfies my pizza craving.

NOT AN EXPERT,

I say, "sometimes" you pay for what you get,
but also make sure you know what you get, thickness is important, look of the meat and marbling
but MORE important is how you prep and cook it,
even a 50 buck steak can suck if you dont prep it and cook it properly

with food I "NEVER" shop by price, I look for what I want and if the price is good BONUS,

except when I buy a ribroast and I make damn sure the fam know I spent 50 bucks on that piece of meat

$18 a lb is what it is by me for Grass fed local Rib Eye, at a butcher, I got two 1.5" 25 oz RE's this week as they had a sale for 12.87 lb.

Aldi's has them for about 12.50 lb, but they always put the bad side down where you can't see it, and they are cut too thin for me to grill properly.

If this is a DIYchatroom in joke, I'm not getting it.
Seriously a whole cow. gives a new meaning to the word
Holy Cow...

Hope you have a cardiologist on speed dial :)

I just un followed this thread, I'm back and following with interest!

We buy a cow every year and split it with a friend. Has gone up to $4 a lb this year. Was $3 for many years. Usually buy 100 lbs of shrimp year and I get a few deer every year as well. We eat pretty well. It shows on my waistline
