I'm using stair nosing around the perimeter of my cutaway staircase, and just wondering what I should do about the corner that poses a bump danger to passersby and my growing offspring. Left at the 90 degree corner, it's pretty sharp.

I've removed old carpeting from some stairs and want to resurface with engineered hardwood. Several YouTube videos show that the tread overhang should be cut back so that the tread is flush with the riser. Why is that necessary since it is extra work?

We just bought a house that needs a few things done. It has laminate floors throughout which are in ok shape, however whoever installed it put metal nosing on the stairs. It looks horrible and industrial, and is painful to walk on. Is it possible to just replace the nosing or do I have to redo...
