Hello all, I am installing a 400 amp meter base combo.I have seen plenty of example of 400 amp meter bases with separate 200 amp disconnects. These separate disconnects typically have a grounding bare and a hole punch to bring the grounding wire out through eco suit down to the grounding rods...

I am finally getting around to installing an off peak meter base that I originally had questions about back on this thread. Was too much of a wimp to do this in the dead of winter. I have since had a conversation with the PoCo and they've basically confirmed the wiring as discussed in that...

I've pulled a permit and am installing a 240v outlet in my garage for EV charging. My electric company offers a program where electrical use on this outlet can be significantly cheaper when used during "off hours" (e.g. overnight). To support this, I need to install a separate meter on this...

New to the forum. Hopefully somebody can give me some advice on finding a very specific meter box for my house. A few weeks ago our house was vandalized and the vandals ripped our power meter out of the socket, breaking the meter box cover in the process. The house was built in the 70s and as...

Hello, I was wondering what type of conduit I can use between a meter base and load center. Both will be mounted to an outdoor 6x6 pedestal about 5' off the ground. They will be mounted on opposite sides of this pedestal. I assume this is considered by NEC as a location "subject to physical...

My son has been having progressively worse headaches for several months. Finally went to the doctor, tests done, found nothing. It was suggested there might be a slight chance he has a sensitivity to whatever pulses are coming out of the smart meter that was installed around the time he...

I'm adding a third car attached garage to my house. I want to add a 2 phase 100 amp breaker panel in the garage for a 240 outlet and a number of 110 devices, 5 circuits in all. I would feed a line from the meter box to the breaker panel using 3335 copper wire. The current meter box only has a...

Hello! I've never posted here, but have been a member for awhile. Thanks in advance for any help! I need to replace my existing meter box, and the electric company requires a 200 Amp, min. 19" tall x 13 wide ringless box with lever bypass. As far as I can tell, I am not required to replace my...

I noticed a main breaker box cover was missing outside at an apartment building. It had three 200 amp breakers inside. My opinion was getting the cover back on was a priority, any thoughts? Photo attached. Seems like this could be dangerous with kids around, possible rain water getting inside etc.

    1. I am upgrading a 100 amp to 200 amp service 2. The meter is a combination system that includes a service disconnect. 3. The 200 amp electrical panel (of course it also has a 200 amp disconnect) to be installed in the house will require it to be placed about 15 feet from the meter. Questions...

I am installing a new underground service to a small house. I am also setting a subpanel in a remote barn. I have two 2-1/2" conduits coming up the stem wall of the house foundation, one for the service and one to the barn. Service conduit will lead up outside wall to surface mounted meter...
