I have GFI's outside that don't have anything plugged into them and the trip out occasionally, there are several and not all but some do trip. I live in South Louisiana, it may be humidity related but they're not in use.
I've wired up a bathroom gfi outlet. It is a combination outlet/switch. The switch controls a bathroom light.
Some devices won't work in the outlet. Some do.
Toothbrush charger - no
Night Light - briefly works, then no
Electric shaver charger - Ok
