Anyone have experience with these types of PVC vinyl fencing? What is unacceptable to me are the scratches and the incorrect bracing. Also it just looks somewhat sloppy. The cuts aren’t straight and the gaps are large. Am I within reason to rake them over the coals?

Looking to build a fence for our back yard. My neighbors have a privacy fence that is set 1 foot off the property line. My question: Would I be able to place a post on their property uo against their fence? Do I need some sort of contract? I'm in Pennsylvania. Thanks

We had two replace two fence posts. Previous panels were reused and we have been charged 380. 5050 on cost for labour and materials. I just checked the posts and they appear to be split. Should this happen and is the cost reasonable?

Construction just began on my new home (first time home owner) and I've found myself stressing quite a bit about a fence. It's a corner lot in a pretty standard midwest subdivision. No HOA or anything like that, just standard small/medium size town regulations. My concern is where to place my...

I'm planning a build a racking system (basically a fence for solar) similar to pictures below. For the vertical posts into the ground, i'm looking at a couple options: 1) u-channel galvanized post (this is 2 lb/foot, but could jump to 3 lb/foot if recommended) 2) square sign post Looking at...

I am about to install a 6' tall vinyl privacy fence that will assemble to 8' wide. In my area, I will be digging a 10" wide post hole 36" deep. There are two runs of fence that are not divisible by 8 and I would like your opinion on how to space out the posts. One run is 25'6". Should I have...

Just got done putting together 2"x 2" black aluminum posts for my cable wire to run horizontal. There are two normal sizes of cable thickness, one is 1/16" and the other is 3/16". We would prefer a bolder look, which steers me to 3/16", but not sure if it will make much of a difference. Were...

I'm just anchored down my metal posts on top of retaining wall. I was getting ready to put wire cable across (every 3") all the way up, and cap top rail with metal (prob paint all metal from black to silver). However, i've been searching around to explore different type of materials besides...

Hello Everyone, I'm having some serious deer issues and I want to fence a 160' stretch of my property. I received a quote from a local fencing company of about $3600 for 8' fencing with a 4' gate, etc. It's a bit high and I'm now adding this to my project list. I've been searching around the...

I'm looking to build a fence like this, but instead of wood for rails, thinking some sort of composite black planks or aluminum strips. They don't have to be a structurally tuff as deck boards. Anyone have ideas to help control costs here and still make it look great? thank you

I have an existing 6' wood privacy fence. I would like to remove a section of the fencing and add a gate. The existing posts are about 8' apart. The area would not be easy to add another post hole. Is this even possible?

Hi there--first-time poster with a fencing question. My neighbor's fence, along one side of my property, is stable but ugly (worn/busted pickets, etc.). I'd like to make it look better on my side, but putting up a new fence/posts with a gap will make my already-small yard even smaller. I'm...

Hello, board. This is my first question here. ^^; I'm trying to re-landscape my entire yard. Here's a bird's-eye view of my lot: My house is on bottom, front door facing the bottom, and my garage is at the top against the alley. As you can see, my house is built right along the left edge of...

Hi, First time posting, so please forgive me if this topic has already been discussed (I tried searching and didn't find anything). I am a part-time handyman/contractor and am trying to make a privacy fence around a customers trashcans. He is interested in the sides being made from...

We have a smaller yard in Seattle and had a retaining wall built, there is no where to build a fence other than attaching to the top of the retaining wall. The builders of the wall glued each piece together and we opted for the large 100 lb or so blocks to fortify it. Now we would like a fence...

After doing a bunch of research on stains for my untreated cedar fence, I came to the conclusion that Ready Seal is my best bet for staining. The fence is 1 year old and has not had any treatment/stain applied so I think it is just considered rough cut. I do not believe it is considered milled...

Go easy on me as I'm a new homeowner and equally new to home repair! our front yard has an underscalloped vinyl fence. One of the pickets' peaks is cracked off (no idea how), and borders our neighbor's driveway. I don't like this eye sore for our neighbors and ourselves and would really like...

Hello, We have an existing 6’ wood fence with 4x4” posts all rotting away and needs to be replaced. It is straight and about 100’ long. Our neighbors have agreed to pay half for a similar replacement fence. However, we would like to pay the difference to have the new fence be 8’ tall, and...
