Picture Kitchen Cabinet "Re-Facing"
'80's vintage red oak cabinets had gotten too orangey colored, so we grain filled, sanded, and painted the face frames and then replaced all doors and drawer fronts with custom made hard maple raised panel components from "The Door Stop" in Arizona. We primed and sprayed the new fronts and doors ourselves.

I used regular (not lightweight) drywall spackling for the grain filler and Zinnser BIN shellac-based primer. The primer was brished, and the paint and clear topcoats were sprayed with my Fuji MiniMite 3-stage HVLP setup.

Home Depot had quoted over $20K for the refacing job, and we did it ourselves for less than $5K (includes ALL costs).

I highly recommend The Door Stop, and can't say enough about their accuracy, speed, customer service, and pricing. The sanded finish on the doors was perfect and ready-to-paint with no additional touch up sanding being required.

Picture Faux Fireplace in Living Room
Added a faux fireplace in our Living Room, which can also be used as a Dining Room. Floor hearth made of tile which matches the Foyer floor, and is inset flush into the floor to eliminate trip hazards. Outlet including inside the firebox. Half-brick were used for the firebox, and several layers of colored "wash coats" of paint sponged onto the brick and mortar to simulate a used condition inside the firebox.
