Besides trailers, RVs, and mobile homes, condos are the most difficult installations as a rule. Many in my area were built with no water treatment loop, they are on a slab and space is extremely limited. It turns into a "put it here or not at all" situation. This particular one DID come with a loop and there she was. Fullstop!

Choices are what they are. With a water softener, fortunately, his water heater will extend its life by 5-fold or more. So costs in preserving equipment far outweigh inconvenience not to mention having excellent water all those years, which also preserves toilets, washers, dishwashers, ROs, icemakers, bathroom fixtures, and so on as you must know when it concerns the advantages of soft over hard.

I can sense your frustration when you get to a home and you have to remove other's work just to get your task. We often have to jump the same hurdles in a different direction. How incredibly difficult some of these modular homes are with stapled under sheeting and splayed plumbing when a simple design change should have made an installation so simple.

Thanks for your comments.
