How to extend rubber membrane

Hi group, I have two flat roofs with small leaks.
The rubber membrane looks fine but when installed (before I bought the house) they didn't wrap it around the edges of the roofs. I am pretty sure this is the reason they are leaking. They are at least 15 years old.
Does anyone know how I should go about extending the membrane? Also, what kind of sealant should I use around the edge that won't get extended? About 5 years ago a roofing company installed the nails you see all around the higher roof, and then sealed all around. I need to re-seal again.
Thank you for your help.

Flex-Seal products.

I scoffed at their sales pitches on TV, until I had nothing to lose, and tried it.

I was amazed at it's ability to stop leaks.

They have liquid in cans, spray cans, and a tape that is supposed to be good.

look them up and see if you can use something they sell.

I scoff at them too for the simple reason that they use fake bricks when the demonstrate their adhesive product. Even if the product does what they say that it does, no one is strong enough to lift 4 bricks from the top brick with one hand.

Do you remember the old TV Brick?

Years ago, someone invented a brick shaped foam thing that was designed to throw at your TV when someone ( politician), said something that you did not like.

I don't know if they ever sold much, but I remember seeing their ads.

I've never tried to lift 4 bricks like they do, but I too doubt that puny he can do it.

Aren't the bricks in water? That would make them substantially easier to lift...

No, he lifts the bricks as he glues them one at a time.

Re: How to extend rubber membrane

Here's how you seam it:
. Not sure it work in your case because you should tuck the patch under the existing membrane, and it might be kind of hard to clean the underside of the existing. Maybe you could do something with cover tape.

Don't think much of those nails. Someone didn't know what they were doing. I'd question the wisdom of trying to extend it vs replacing the whole thing.

Thank you all.

I'll try Flex seal.

The quote I got to replace both roofs was 11k! this is why I am trying to just fix it instead.

One more tip that I found , when using the spray can, it is best applied in several light thin coats, over a few days time.

It covers better, and builds up better in layers.

one thick coat will puddle and run off , wasting your expensive experiment.

Just for clarification and for potential compatibility issues that roof looks an APP torch down. Maybe an SBS but I never knew them to be smooth surface.
It doesn't look like an EPDM which would be a synthetic rubber.
Do you know what exactly it is?
If its an APP there will be seams every 36".

Re: How to extend rubber membrane

You are probably right. It does have seams every 36". I don't know exactly what it is but sounds like APP for what you described.
I got another estimate and it is just as high. I am thinking on doing them myself using PVC rolls in the spring. I'll start with the smaller (and lower) one to get some practice. For now I just patched them.
Thank you for your help.
