Aluminum nails aarrgh

Aluminum nails for fascia etc are a major pain.
Will steel nails will end up with rust streaks?
Is the problem galvanic action or simple rust?
Painted steel nails any better?
Any other options?

Thanks.

You want painted stainless steel nails. The best ones will be ring shanked.

Bore a hole about a third to half the nail diameter for the nail to follow and the nail won't be such a pain.

I've tried that and it helps, but not as much as I thought it
would. I'll see if local hardware stores carry the painted stainless
nails recommended by @XSleeper .

If not there, any real siding supply will have color matched trim nails.

Re: Aluminum nails aarrgh

Are you using a retractable nail set for siding nails? It really helps with the bending. Even the box stores carry SS painted nails.
