New Kitchen Cabinets on Tile Floor???

Re-doing kitchen. All new cabinets. Leaving old tile - too big area to repla$e. Matching tiles not available. Not sure Ceramic or Porcelain. Current, original cabinets installed before tile - so on slab.
New Island is going to be a little larger than previous.
There are some slightly cracked tiles after 30 years. Cracked ones seem to sound 'hollow' when tapped. Also, there are several that sound hollow that are not cracked.
It is possible to cut tiles to accept new cabinets on slab but not clean, easy or fun.
What are pros and cons of putting cabinets ON tile instead of cutting out so cabinets sit on slab?
Any considerations / recommendations appreciated.
Thanks!

Pro: No tile cutting necessary!
Con: Harder to remove flooring if/when you come up with the $ to replace the tile.

You can get tile for under a dollar a sq ft. Do you (or the boss) just have really expensive tastes that tile is really that much money to replace?

not sure what the OP is meaning exactly with to big an area to replace but...
$1 psf does not include removal, disposal or installation. all of which will be either a lot of work, or money that exceeds $1 psf.

Having said that, if it were me, I wouldn't replace kitchen cabinets without doing the floor. The cabinets are expensive and picking cabinets to go with your old cracking floor tile seems pennywise and pound foolish.

This is a DIY forum. Labor is (or should be) free! Only additional costs I see would be disposal (any disposal costs for this little tile are easily got around), and the tile accessory stuff like grout and setting compound.

I hear you. BUT - we are spending all we currently can on a gutted kitchen. Tile area is almost 2500 square feet - entire downstairs and just isn't happening now. And, yes, boss has expensive taste. Tile chosen will be much more than $1.00 sq. ft.
