Transitioning a countertop from granite to silestone
We have a long counter area in our connected kitchen/breakfast nook design, about 21 feet. Don't want the long length, and are thinking differentiating the two rooms by changing the counter surface when we arrive at the breakfast nook. We'll granite, then silestone, and the upper cabinets will change from solid fronts to glass.
HOWEVER, how do we transition from one stone to another? Is there the equivalent of a saddle you see in doorways when moving from wood to tile, for instance? Should we add a pilaster at the point where the change is made?
Suggestions are welcome!
