toilet rough-in

the toilet rough-in (3" ID ABS) was cut (not by me) flush with the basement cement floor. Once I add thinset, heating wire and tile, a standard closet flange will be way too short. It does not make sense to install a standard closet flange onto the cement then add a bunch of "SET-RITE" pieces on top. A closet flange with a LONG sleeve would work (If I could only find one). I could chisel out the cement around the ABS pipe so that I could add a union to build length. Looking for ideas/options.

Re: toilet rough-in

If it will glue on 1" you should be OK. Another option is to use an inside pipe cutter, lower the stub height more and then use a coupling with a male (spigot) flange.

Re: toilet rough-in

ahh... knowing that a one inch glue connection with suffice may be all I need. If I cut the stub lower (below the level of the cement floor), then I would need to chisel a lot around the outside of the pipe to make room for a coupling, then put male closet into that.??? (sorry.. I used the word "union" in my original post when a think I meant coupling).
