Is the toilet flange supposed to be glued down?

I'm trying to remove the old rusted out toilet fange all the nails has been removed but I can't pull it out like I did with my other bathroom. it appeared to be glued or stuck to the ABS pipe below. I've done a couple toilets now and this is the first one I ran into this problem. Is it normal for them to be glueing this? My other flanges just slide in with a gasket.

It could be just stuck, glued for some reason, or it could be a Twist n Set flange.

Most ABS are glued in the pipe.

Post a picture.

You have a cast iron flange on an ABS pipe?

All the initial install I've ever dealt with are glued either inside a 4" pipe or outside a 3" pipe.

@huesmann there are some ABS and PVC flanges that have a metal ring. Without a picture I can't declare that to be the case here.
