Threaded Light Globe Won't Budge

I put back this threaded light globe in the socket. I put it in wrong. Now I cannot get it out. I've tried turning it clockwise, counterclockwise. I have sprayed the thread with Blaster. It won't move.

Should I break the globe? Behind it is a plastic fixture which is screwed in using Allen screws which I want to remove. Behind the plastic fixture is the actual electrical that stays. I have attached pics so you can see.

Or is there anything else I can try? Breaking this thing is the last resort. I don't want to do this and have glass shards all over.

Thanks for any suggestions.

You cross threaded it. Throw a rag over it so if it breaks, the glass won't fly. Put on some heavy gloves & a pair of safety glasses. Grab it tightly & spin it counter clockwise.
Don't be afraid to use some force.

If a risk of breaking I would cover the glass 100% with strips of duct tape, makes it easier to get a hold of as well.

One other step you might try would be a hair dryer. Heat can make metal expand and maybe loosen it up.

I would just put a bag over the globe and break it.

I would put on thick leather gloves, and grab it with my Gorilla Paw, and unscrew it, the gloves are in case it breaks, don't want to sever my carpal artery.

Sometimes a rubber jar lid opener, from the kitchen will give you better grip to unscrew it.

It's cross threaded, and stuck.

If you lived next door I'd loan you my 6 ft. x 6 ft. piece of rubber shelf liner to wrap around as a gripper, apply some torque lefty loosie and put the hair drier heat to it while torque applied.

if you haven't broken it trying, you're not trying hard enough. Turn it like you mean it. it'll either come out or break.

Re: Threaded Light Globe Won't Budge

Yay! Success at last. I kept turning it counter-clockwise. It loosened a bit, so I turned it both ways. It took about 6 tries but it simply screwed off like a miracle on the lasts try. No break and the globe is perfect. However, am replacing the whole fixture.

Thanks for all your suggestions. Very much appreciated! :-)
