Switching out double basin kitchen sink to single

I'm in the process of buying a house and the kitchen sink is a double basin which I hate. The problem is the left side has a wave to it and the granite is cut to follow that pattern. Is there a way to install a single basin sink with this granite cut out like that?

Sorry this is the best picture I could find online

That's going to be hard without replacing the counter top or at least modifying it which might even be harder. May I ask why you don't like a double sink?

Re: Switching out double basin kitchen sink to single

I'm with Guap0, I can not imagine having a single basin sink.
I've only seen one and that was when I was changing it out to a double.
I wash the dishes on the left side and set my dish rack in the right side so I do not have to sit it on the counter taking up counter space.
Is yours also an under counter mounted sink?
If so I can this job costing about $1000.00.

Re: Switching out double basin kitchen sink to single

I have a drying rack on a drying pad on the counter. I had a single basin in my townhouse and loved being able to wash bigger pots and pans without having to deal with a smaller sink. I'm in an apartment now while we go through the buying process and have a double basin. It is very annoying to me. It just makes both sides too small to be a good kitchen sink in my opinion.

It is under mounted. I would have thought companies would make a single basin with this same shape but maybe not.

Check the brand and model, usually underneath the sink. My Blanco sink looks like what you have in the photo.

Then contact the manufacturer, ask them if they have the same size/shape as a single sink. If they do, then you can hire a pro to install.
