Stove in peninsula?
What are the considerations I should be thinking about for putting my stove and cooktop in a peninsula?

over the top hood or down draft built into stove.
Kids knocking pans easily.

Wow the downdraft setup is not cheap. I don't want a hood as I have a mountain view I'm trying to open up. Back to the layout.

If you stick with the original idea-----Make sure that the counter is wide enough for preparation and such---I added a wider and somewhat longer counter for a customer who was frustrated to tears with the lack of space for ingredients and tools around the cook top---

Although I have worked on almost ever part of her house--she thanks me for that top almost ever time I see her.

Little things mean a lot---your kitchen is a work shop----lousy layout takes the joy out of working in it---so take your time---make a mock up using sheet styrofoam if you can't picture how the layout will work-----this extra effort will pay you back for the life of the kitchen---Mike----

THey have hanging hoods that shouldn't block you view, would be above your view.

many styles and prices.

If budget is a concern I have heard of a guy who used Oak plywood (whatever type you want) to cover in regular ducting to the ceiling. then the guts of a regular hood or a liner you can buy.
