Question

Selecting Kitchen New Cabinets

I'm in the middle of a home renovation project and I'm starting on the kitchen now. My budget is $5K max for cabs and counter top and I'd like some kind of top that is not a plastic laminate.

What is the best place to shop for the best bang for your buck "well-built cabinets"

I have about 15 lf of cabinets to replace.

Thanks

You budget is too low for decent quality cabinets and non plastic counters.

You didn't get any responses because people hesitate to recommend
a specific place to get cabinets. I agree with rjniles, you're not going
to be able to stay in budget. I'm assuming you plan on doing all the
installation yourself.

How big is your kitchen? How many cabs?
Start at Home Depot and Lowe's; they sell cabinets off the shelf.

Re: Selecting Kitchen New Cabinets

I hope you shopped around. We have a building supply store in our city, and I was able to buy two prefab granite counter tops (112"x26" each), cabinets, cabinet trim, tile for 200 square feet, back splash for 200 linear inches, and a 450CFM range vent for about 4K. Cabinets are solidly made. Installation prices vary, but if you're doing it yourself, you should be able to remodel the kitchen for 5K.
