Wow.. that ceiling slant is pretty bad. Short of ripping open the ceiling, I'm not sure there's a whole lot that can be done to "fix" the ceiliing slant.

One idea that comes to mind would be to possibly build a soffit above the cabinets, make it level, drywall it, and mount the cabinets right underneath them. Assuming you don't have any structural issues, and the ceiling is structurally sound, this seems like a plausible "solution." Although, I'm not sure if it would look any better.. maybe it wouldn't. Has the ceiling always not been level?

I'm not sure what other options you have, short of really opening up a large part of the ceiling and trying to level it out.

newhomediyguy...thanks. Yes, it's always been like this. It's a long story, but maybe I can keep it short...we moved in here 5 yrs. ago...my husband and his siblings were raised in this house, my father in law lived here for 50 yrs. We farm for a living...the old man retired, so my husband and me moved in to this house because we own the farm land and the house...I should post before & after photos...we remodeled the inside & outside, even knocked down a wall in the house...anyway, the kitchen was really bad, the cabinets were just over the sink area and they went from 6" above the counter top to the ceiling...and there were NO cabinets above the stove area (the pics I posted). Needless to say, we did have some pro's come in to do some of the work, including the kitchen. We were doing our fall harvest when the kitchen was done...we had a pro come in to put in the cabinets & counter tops, so I wasn't in the house during that week, during harvest we are gone from first light til dark everyday...we didn't know that ceiling/wall was not level until I came in after the cabinets were installed and noticed how bad that was...too late to do anything about it at the time...so I've been living with it for 5 yrs. I have wanted to re do my cabinets for the last 3 yrs., but that slant stops me cold.

I thought i could use a crown moulding, make the bottom part level, then by painting it and the ceiling white, the eye might be fooled into thinking it's all level...the soffet was also a thought, it might work if it's also same color as ceiling, fooling the eye.
Yep...this is a huge problem...and no way we can replace the entire ceiling.
