Questions on installing a semi-frameless shower door in a prefab shower

Good morning,

I'm looking to install a shower door in our prefab shower, and I'm running into a few issues that I'm hoping there are some good solutions for.

Question 1) What is the best way to handle the rounded corners of the base in the prefab shower to ensure I have a flush/sealed door? I'm assuming filing the corners of the track is my only option?

Question 2) As you'll see in the picture below, the top of the prefab shower is considerably lower than the shower rod, which is where our curtain has to hang to keep water from splashing over the top. I need about an additional 7" of height with the shower door, but I have no idea how I would install and mount it since the prefab shower is what I attach the frame to. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if there is some attachment/extension I could install on top of the frame to extend the height, without it looking bad. Hopefully that makes sense.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts you all have. Thanks in advance!

EDIT:

In case it's helpful, the width of the shower is slightly over 55" and the height is slightly over 56". I was looking at purchasing this door, although it may not be ideal since it looks like the top of the frame would extend 2" above the top of the shower:

Your tub is too narrow for a glass door, I think I would go for the curved rod, less splashing over the top and more elbow room.

Yeah, we looked into that, but unfortunately our toilet is located right next to the shower and the curve rods cause the shower curtain to brush up against the toilet. Not the most ideal location :\

So you don't think this is a do-able project? Thank you for the quick reply.'

Also, the image might be deceiving - it was just intended to show the height of the prefab shower and where the rod is; the full width of the shower is 55", which appears to be within the range of these frame less doors. Sorry if I misunderstood.

well that's a bummer - I guess we'll either have to make do or eventually decide to tear out the whole pre-fab shower. Thank you for the response!

You could have the glass made to fit, they come out and take measurements and cut the glass to fit and send it out for tempering or send a template for some else to make. But frameless is for a big shower were the water is not landing right at the door. The side of your tub is close to flat so you would still need some kind of stopper.
I put a curved rod in a GF's bath that was a lot like yours and it made all the difference when showering but she did not leave the curtain closed all the time like many people do. It was just stored at the other end of the tub.

That is NOT a 'pre-fab shower'.
It's an aftermarket cover to hide old/ugly tiles and tub.

How old is the house? How much longer do you plan to be there?
It might be time to go down to the studs and rebuild the whole room.
Then you can put in exactly what will suit you for as long as you're there
