Prova and Schluter Mix

I will soon be remodeling my bathroom and have found an oddity with my closest home improvement store. They only seem to carry selective products from Schluter and Prova. They have the Prova linear drain, but not the Schluter linear drain, they carry Ditra, but not the Kerdi Band, only the Prova Joint Band.

Hopefully someone who has used both brands can give some input here. Is their any downfall to mixing and matching products from different manufacturers?

I know the companies state to use their product lines, but is their any harm in mixing and matching?

Re: Prova and Schluter Mix

May be some compatibility issues when it comes to leak proofing at the drain, particularly with a linear drain. I would search out a plumbing supply house instead of relying on the box stores. You will have better selection and more knowledgeable staff.

My go to linear drain is from QuickdrainUSA.com
