Plumbing under slab for new Shower

I've got a contract on a 1970 slab-on-grade ranch in Virginia Beach with 1.5 bathrooms. The 1/2 bath is in the master. Hoping to somehow squeeze a shower in there. That has me wondering about the new plumbing that needs to go through and below the slab. Can the shower drain tie into the existing toilet drain sub-slab? Does shower drain have to be vented? How do you ID exiting utilities before cutting into the slab. Is there a good video to watch. Thanks.

im in the same boat as you, though my drain relocation is somewhat minor in comparison... tub to a shower stall. following this thread for sure.

im not a pro, but off the top of my head id think a a fiberoptic scope could be used to identify whats under the slab immediatly under the drains. whether or not you can get an idea of where the plumbing is heading, ive no clue.

a metal detector can be used to identify rebar as well as post tensioned cables. the latter needs to remain undisturbed. you can dowl in new rebar with epoxy should you need to cut through them though.

I'm not a pro either. "I have a contract on a ranch", meaning I'm buying a house.
