Out of Plumb Adjustment Possible??

I have a glass shower door kit from Dreamline (Enigma 48").

Am getting ready to try install but just measured and confirmed that my walls are not plumb!! OUCH!! Anyway, wondering how I might be able to still use the kit since it does not have an out of plumb adjustment...any ideas?

My measurements show it is wider by about 1" to 1 1/8" on the top from the bottom.

The fixed glass side wall is plumb. The door side is not.

Thanks,

Bill

Ouch is right! 1 1/8" over roughly 5 feet is a lot. With the install kit there is usually a tech service number to call. Might want to check with the MFG. They will likely tell you to fix the wall, at least the portion where the door attaches.

By all means check with the manufacturer, but you DO have an adjustment with the overhead wheels. They have an elliptical attachment and can be adjusted to a degree. 1" may push the envelope, however.

Re: Out of Plumb Adjustment Possible??

Have not done anything yet ... scared to try but here is my plan ....

Add a 1in or piece of wood on the side as an extension to the wall. Get it squared up, then tile to match (this will obviously stick out from the wall a little but thinking the tiling will/could make it look simply like a quasi-doorstop.)

After that, I will drill the holes through to mount the rod holding the door. May need to get some specialty screw/anchors since I have added thickness and am concerned the ones that came with the unit will not be long enough.

What do you think of this idea???

I AGREE ... am horrible with trying to get pictures up. I plan to use the accent tiles that around the bath. They come in a sheet with individual tiles of differing colors about 1/2in by 1 1/2in.

The idea is that the wall will have an accent on it where it meets the door ... may even do on the other side to keep symmetry .... depends on wifey
