Old Grout Between Tub and Tile Wall

The previous owner or contractor grouted between the bath tub and tile wall then caulked over it right before putting the place on the market.

I've spent the last hour removing 5% of it.

I'm pretty sure I need to remove all the grout but maybe there is another way?

Only one full bath in this house so I need to find a solution quick.

Should have never been grouted. How are you removing it that is so hard?Have you tried one of the painters 5 in1 tools?

I am removing the top layer of caulk first with a caulk tool.

Then using an utility knife, painters tool and flat head screwdriver very carefully. So far no damage to the tub or tiles.

A carbide 'grout saw' is handy for that if the gap is wide enough.
An oscillating Multi-tool will get that done in a hurry--might not need it for one job--but they are handy for other work---so, if you need a new tool--here is an excuse to buy one.

What are the cons of just caulking over the grout?
