Moving granite counter top

Hello everyone, long time lurker first post. Recently purchased a house and we are gutting/renovating the kitchen. I would like to move the existing cabinets and granite counters in to my garage for a workspace.

The counters are attached to the base cabinets with silicone. Here is where I'm stuck. It's basically a "U" shaped kitchen so there are two seams in the counters. How can I separate those seams... Moving it in one piece is not an option, just way to big and heavy.

I read, on line, about using a heat gun to warm and soften epoxy and then a utility knife to score it as deep as possible.

Anyone ever try this?

Appreciate any help or advice.

That is how you would do it.
