laminate countertops

Ok we are going to put a cheap laminate countertop in our kitchen. My issue is the top needs to be 12 ft long all lowes carrys instock are 10 ft.

Can you put 2 of these together on a straight edge or only on the 45 edge?

Maybe put the seam near the sink or cooktop? The visibility of the seam will depend on the quality of your cuts, the type of laminate, even any pattern and the color.

Post a few pics of the area and the proposed counter.

Find a local "top shop" and have a proper plywood countertop made...
with laminate glued to it. You can still do the install.

The extra $100 or so will be money well spent.

I ripped a 12' one out of my kitchen in February. They definitely exist.

The answer to your question is YES, you can bolt 2 straight pieces of laminate post form countertops together as long as you purchase a "left" and "right" section so the bolt routes are in the correct place.
I would suggest adding clear kitchen and bath silicone in the joint before bolting together, this will keep water from ruining the particle board the laminate is glued to. Good luck

FYI for DIYers
a 12 ft top can be ordered with no seams.
