The linolium and underlamant have to go before tiling.
You also need to check the floor joists spans and widths and thinkness and type of subflooring to see if tile will even work.
If there partical board it also needs to go.

Chad....welcom to DIY...putting your location in your profile will help us answer your queston better.

Like Joe said...the existing vinyl needs to go. If your floor has a crawl space, then as Joe said, you need to confirm what the span is for loading. Tile is heavy. Also, if you have a sub floor, you also need to cofirm what is there. If you were in Los Angeles and the house was built in the 50's....you would have 1x6's at a 45 deg angle with 1/2" plywood on top of that. That 1/2" plywood is not really the best thing to put tile on.

Since your cabinets are out....I would do all the floor first...get it right...then set your cabinets. You want to make sure you tile where the fridge and dishwasher go. Have you ever tried to roll a fridge out with a 1/2" curb in the way?
