KBRS Shower Pan

I recently purchased a KBRS shower pan. The directions call for it to be set in thin-set when installing but my plumber continues to insist that I shouldn't use thin-set and instead use construction adhesive. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

factory says thinset, here is there video..
adhesive could leave too much spongyness and cause cement and tile to crack...

If he's not willing to follow basic factory install directions what else is he going to do wrong?
This a one shot deal, if it fails it's a complete do over.

Follow the manufacturer's directions or they won't stand behind their product if it fails, and get another plumber, sounds like he doesn't know jacksh$t.
