Interference of countertop and door casing

Thank's for being available to answer questions!

I am installing a lav in a bathroom immediately left of a pocket door. The distance from the wall on the left is 26.5" to the rough opening of the door. I would like to use a 24" cabinet with a 25.5" countertop. I don't know exactly what the dimensions of the casing will be, but it will definitely interfere with the countertop. Is that a typical issue that is resolved just by notching the casing or is that too tacky and I should rethink the countertop dimension?

Any ideas for a solution?

Thanks

Doug

Notch the casing for the counter top (and the vanity?).
It isn't tough to do. Caulking is your friend.

Some times vanities are available in 22 1/2" depths and the top can be reduced.
