How to put shower in with 4.5 pony wall

I have a bathroom with a pony wall. I want to put a shower in but I'm not sure how to deal with that pony wall.

I was thinking of getting a neo angle shower and putting painted plywood where the two walls of the shower would go and using 2x4s to attach the plywood to where the wall goes in. One on the pony wall wall and another on the flat wall. Then I can screw my base and shower walls into that painted plywood and finish the edges with trim.

Does that seem like the best idea?

what is your width(wall to wall) and depth (wall to toilet) that you have. the knee wall (pony wall) is not an issue. how about drain line location

I like a pony wall in the shower, cheaper and roomier than a niche and easy to tile and it leaves you with a shelf for all your products.

Your drain location is your issue and if you have flexibility you can put a standard shower base down and tile the walls and be done.
