How do you remove a stain from Granite?

Hi,

We have a ring around our bathroom sink. I was thinking it was a water stain but we have let it sit for a bit with the water turned off under the sink and it isn't fading.. I'm thinking maybe it is some of the products we use to wash our face? Could it be oil? Is it a water mineral stain?

I've tried heating it with a cardboard tent to try to "dry it out" but it looks to be something else..

The pictures below are with warm color temperature light and then cool light..

Any ideas?

Thanks!

-Jeff

How long have you waited? I know that type of granite----it holds water for a week or more---very absorbent---

i had dish soap stain like that. it got even larger than this. it took months to leach out the stain.

idk what is staining yours. but i would say that its probably a lost cause. unless you can find out what the stain is. then stain the rest to match.

So this is completely resolved now!! The stain was just water.. We switched to a low flow waterfall faucet and it now splashes a lot less. We started wiping down with rubbing alcohol and then we sealed with 511 penetrating sealer and the ring in the pictures is 100% GONE!
