We will be updating the kitchen in the house we are purchasing. The wall that I had planned on puting a pantry against has hot water baseboard heat running the whole length. I have never lived in a house with hot water baseboard heat (I just moved to MA from NM.) In any case, has anyone used a kickstart heater? from what I read online it can tie into the hot water piping and be placed under the cabinets/pantry. The installation didn't seem like something that either my husband or i could do; who needs to do it - a plumber? electrician for the wiring? we have ~20K budget for everything in the kitchen, so I don't want to do this if it's going to cost too much. The unit itself didn't seem too pricey, but I really have no clue about the installation. Can I still have the hot water baseboard all the way up next to the pantry? our other idea was to hang some wall cabinets against that wall with a "desk" type thing underneath. Any thoughts? TYIA.
