high CFM range hood install

When installing high CFM range hood, the routing duct always should go up or flat, but never go downward??

also can I use dryer duct(lower elevation than range hood) to combine with my range hood duct? if so how do i prevent the exhaust from range hood split into dryer.

Re: high CFM range hood install

Hot air wants to rise, so if you slope it downwards, I would expect there would be more resistance to airflow, but if that is your only option, I don't see that as so terrible. If you slope down, and then up again, you are creating a trap, that will can fill with condensation. Stick to manufacturer's instructions and you should be OK.

Combining your dryer duct and your range hood does not sound like a good idea, for the reason you have suggested (plus dryer venting into your kitchen).
