Foam Spray on sub-floor prior to setting new tub?

When installing a new tub has anyone ever applied "Great Stuff Gap Filler Foam" spray under tub prior to setting new tub in place - I was watching You Tube tub installation video and the installer applied this to the sub-floor prior to setting tub in place
Please let me know any thoughts or comments on this practice - I was unaware and seen on video

No way would I do that for several reasons.
Foam is compressible.
It expands as it dries enough to lift the tub or cause a raised area if it's a fiberglass or plastic tub.
Just follow the manufactures install directions to the letter.

An old plumber told me to put a bed of grout under the tub, because the grout won't shrink as much as typical mortar. I did that when I put in a fiberglass shower stall 10+ years ago and it's still rock solid, and I would do it that way again.
