The 100 year oldfarmhouse kitchen ceiling needs a bit of help. I think there was a small leak I can see discoloration on ceiling and it's starting to sag...just at crack.
Oh and it has that dreaded texture on it, not easily removed because the people that put it on were told to add ceiling paint to the texture and it was sprayed on over 17 years ago. BIG MISTAKE!!!
I'm a guy with 2 bum shoulders...rotator cuff surgery...sigh.
My wife says we will sell before she tackles this job!!!
All ceilings were done like this!!!
A pic or two would be nice, that way we'd know exactly what you have going on.
Is the ceiling the original plaster or was drywall hung later? You can get by with caulking minor cracks but if the drywall or plaster is weak or if drywall tape is coming loose - it will need more work. Water stains need an oil base primer to seal the stain so it won't bleed thru latex paint.
