convert old bathtub to new tiled bathtub

I recently demo'd a 1 piece fiberglass shower/tub combo unit from 1961 and want to replace it with a new tiled tub/shower. I plan on building the curb with 2 rows of concrete block (approx 15" high) and want some advice on how to install the drain to accommodate the built-up shower pan (rubber liner) and the corresponding overflow pipe connection. Is the existing 1-1/4" line sufficient for shower drainage or should I convert all to 2". I am not sure how to proceed. Any help/advice would be welcome. Jeff

I never made a concrete tub---However look at the schluter drain and look at Latacrete--Hydroban.

Let's see if anyone here ever tiled a tub.

Okay...you are saying "shower/tub" but you aren't going to use a tub? What's up with that?

Are you wanting to build your own tub? What the heck are you planning to do? Need more information.

Agree with Bud, post confusing.
Are you putting in a tub with an integrated shower?
Is a stand alone shower replacing the tub?
What's 15" high?
