Where I live a 8' x 30 inch piece of finished granite with bull nosing costs around $200. Installation adds another $200 for cutting in for a sink and faucet. Our kitchen has 20 linear feet of granite and overall cost was under $1,000.
Do you live next door to a granite quarry in India circa 1930? Just delivery around here can cost $200.

Huge cost difference from buying granite @ $60/sf vs making concrete countertops for a couple hundred total.
Zero impact on resale unless you make a complete hash of it. A lot of buyers like the concrete more than "boring old granite". Quartz is now the preferred countertop.
