ceiling posts

contractor tore down wall in the kitchen but didnt put brace along the ceiling. Any recommendations to protect the ceiling from falling down. any decorative stainless steel post available to secure the ceiling..

As a new poster, let me recommend a few things. First, you need to FULLY describe the situation. In this case, that means dimensions, such as the length of the wall, the height of the wall, and the size of the room. Second, a dimensioned sketch and/or photos are essential. Remember, we cannot read your mind, and we cannot see what you see. Third, we need to know the type of construction you are discussing, specifically in this case whether the wall was load bearing, did it support joists, what was the spacing on the joists, where are you located (so we know what code applies).

Without details you cannot get a useful response.
