Best caulk for granite countertop and backsplash tile

We had new granite countertops installed, removing our old granite countertop. The original backsplash is still in place. The grout in the tiles is a brownish beige.

I know once the new countertop is installed, the correct next step is to caulk the gap between the tile and countertop.

But in some places the gap is pretty big (1/4" at least). If I use regular silicone or siliconized acrylic caulk, I'll end up with a noticeable white line in these areas. It'll contrast with the brownish-beige grout.

So I'm thinking of of getting sanded colored caulk (like this) that most matches the grout. I know this wouldn't be ok for a tub or bathroom b/c of the constant water exposure, but is should be ok for behind the sink, right?

Or do I need to order a special silicone caulk like this?

Thanks.

I see no reason the polyblend would not work for you. JMO

Either one will do well for you. The color matched silicone may be easier to use as the sanded caulk has a bit of a learning curve and a tendency to shrink as it cures

Thanks.
If you are going for beige, the big box stores stock almond silicone caulk which may be an option.
Worth the $6 to buy a tube and do a test bead to see if that works for you.

1/4” is likely beyond the reliable limits of typical color matched grout caulk. In my experience, they shrink back excessively.

The best caulk I have found is available from the following link. Yes it’s expensive, but yes it’s worth it. Considering the cost of the granite, it’s a drop in the bucket. I now use this stuff on all our tile jobs. http://colorriteinc.com/color-sil
