Bathroom window size and height

We're planning an additional bathroom. For the best layout, the window will be above the toilet. On the other side of that wall is part of our patio. It's not the place where people will be sitting, but people could be walking by.

I know from experience with our master bath window (which is huge and low) that it feels like you don't have any privacy if there are people walking and talking right outside the window while you're using the bathroom. I told my husband that I think the window should be smaller and higher on the wall for this reason, but he says that having it just a few feet above the tank is enough.

Opinions?

Whatever size you order, you can get opaque privacy glass for that window.

I would not want it lower than about 5 foot off the floor.

There's no law saying it even has to have a window.
Want natural light, see if there's a way to install a Solar Tube.

Re: Bathroom window size and height

Men don't care and women will put privacy blinds over privacy glass and still feel naked.

In my upstairs bathrooms the hall bath window is within a foot of the floor and the MB window is about 30" off the floor. We are pleased with both. So that means it is a personal choice.

One thing for you to factor into your discussions and thoughts. Blinds on ground level windows should be levered up for maximum privacy while blinds upstairs should be levered down for maximum privacy.
