Bathroom light

Okay so I was looking at the strip light above a bathroom sink. the light is centered above the sink not the counter or the full counter length mirror is this odd or normal?

I think a picture would be helpful...

My guess is it looks a bit off, but then again if the sink is not centered with the counter that might look a little odd anyway... and after all you'll be using the light in front of the sink most of the time right?
My advice is based on anecdotal knowledge or personal experience. I'm not a professional no matter how matter of factly I may say something
