If you are talking about actually building a tub, don't. There is an incredible amount of weight with a tub full of water, and an incredible amount of stress. One tiny little leak and you will have an incredible amount of water damage and headache.

Go with a manufactured tub.

The Japanese have a product to do just that but the name escapes me right now. Google around for a while. Someone here may know what I'm talking about, it's a strange name.

That would be an ofuro - a Japanese soaking tub. Traditionally made of cedar. . . it's simple: build a box - add seats (etc) - seal them together with silicone or other waterproofing compound and attach plumbing.
At this present moment in time I am making cabinets for the kitchen - just in case you wanted to know what I'm doing when I'm not around.

you can surf the internet and broaden idea about building a tub. manufactured tub is more recommendable than that of building one..
there are actually sites that can answer your question in terms of having a tub..just gonna google around the net. hope you can find it.!!
