Bad granite install??? Can we request all new?

We had a granite install and feel that a really poor job was done by the person who measured. Plus when installed they glued pieces in to make it look better. Am trying to work with company but they have not even come to evaluate job since I first complained. Installed on 4/6/12. Let me know what you think. The dark spots in the corner are very rough and feel like dried glue.

What you may not be able to see too well is the difference from the granite to the wall and it runs along a few spots. They siliconed it but the tile won't cover the difference once installed.

Well I would basically like to know if we really do have grounds for removing current granite top and having it replaced. Or can these imperfections be fixed on site? This is my first big remodeling job and I don't know if I am being too picky. FYI, they are finally coming tomorrow to take a look at the job. Just wanted some input from others who have gone through having granite installed.

Hard to see it good enough in those pictures.
I can see why they had a hard time getting even close to a tight fit againt the walls with that plaster or drywall mud all over the walls.
About the only way to have gotten it any closer would have been to cut it out and slide the countertop closer and then repair whatever that stuff is all over the walls.
Not going to be easy trying to keep those walls clean with that finish.

The pics you see are before the tile backsplash has been installed. We took a sample of the tile backsplash and it does not cover the gaps. Thats why I had granite installed before installing tile. The tile is custom ordered and very expensive, not something we wanted messed up by counter install.

Looks like a discount granite company's typical sloppy install.

When you searched for a granite company ,where you looking for the cheapest?

Sadly many of the cheapos are lousy at installing, but good at fighting to keep your money.

Good luck there,Mike.

No not a discount installer. From our research great installer. Thats why we hired them. Granite is top of line. Instead of insults give me concrete feedback.

Sorry, I didn't mean to insult.

You are justified in asking them to correct that---there is little excuse for seams that are uneven--
Or the sloppy cuts at the wall.

A top company will make that right---lousy template work--Mike--

It's hard to condemn the granite installers without being able to have a good look at the cabinet installation and other site conditions. Those pics give very little to go by as far as what kind of hand the installer was dealt to play with.

I'm not defending the installation, nor am I going to condemn it. Give us some pics of the kitchen as a whole and some pics at a bit of a distance of the walls, corners and overall project.
