Hello,

I am planning on winterizing my Underground Sprinklers and am having trouble trying to find the place to hook up my compressor. I have taken a good look for all potential sites around my home and found the places (pictures above). I have a 4 zone system as seen in pic 3, there is no apparent hook up within the underground box. The vertical PVC pipes are right next to the box and one of the pipes appears to be simply to house a wire and is not connected to the water system. The second picture is where I would assume the RP or PVB systems with valves and hookup locations but all I can find is this capped pipe. The in home main line has no other valves or hook up locations and assume that the one ball valve pointing up is the shut off but can't know for sure.

Please help,

Dan

Re: Winterize Underground Sprinkler Problems

Without a schematic / diagram you're pretty much left with a process of elimination.

Start by closing the valve at the meter and relieving pressure then momentarily opening that valve up after a suspect irrigation pipe is opened to check for flow. Then close the ball valve mentioned and repeat. If no flow at that time the ball valve shuts irrigation supply off.

Re: Winterize Underground Sprinkler Problems

You can remove the cap on the pipe coming out of the house after shutting off the water. Connect your air line to that pipe and cycle each zone until the water is blown out. I hope you have a big compressor.
