Water pressure adjustment

I finally got around to testing the water pressure on my "new" house.
It measures 63psi. My understanding is that it should be 55psi.
The pressure reducing valve is 8 years old, though for the first 6 years the water was off 8 months a year.
I figure the difference between 63 and 55 isn't all that much, and while adjusting it is just a matter of turning a screw, I don't want to get into any trouble. Sometimes when stuff hasn't been adjusted for 8 years, it can fail, and that would be difficult. They cleverly put all the entry valves behind a tiny access door in a finished wall, and replacing anything would be a challenge.

So, what advice do you have for me? (besides replacing the access door with one 4 times a big, so it is actually functional)

I would not touch it. There is nothing wrong with 63psi, that is the approximate upper limit of my well, it works fine. You are correct, if you haven't touched the pressure limiting valve in 8 years, there is a good chance it will not work correctly after you adjust it. Painful experience with valves is they all go bad eventually, if it works OK, probably best to leave it in peace.
