water heater vent

what is the most you can angle a vent for a gas water heater. im having my water heater moved to a laundry room that has aluminum awing that is ribbed. it has a high, 4", rib then low, so trying to make it water tight is a challenge.

Re: water heater vent

i do roofing so i know about vents. the problem is it a awing and running a vent though the middle you cant get to it, sure cant walk on it. its a 60 year old awing, not designed fro any type of pipe to go though.

You can run it horizontal (1/4" per ft rise) but it may change the diameter of the vent. You would need to consult sizing charts.
